Allyson Schwartz believes that the state of Pennsylvania is very sexist against woman. She said Harrisburg couldn't even imagine a woman in office and it's sad to her. She believe she can do anything man can do. She was a front runner and then became second after tom wolf pumped millions into his campaign to help him out. Also she is very experienced she had been in congress and the senate for years. People loved Wolf and his theme resonates through people heads even though he has no electoral experience. She knows the system but Pennsylvania is very hard on woman so getting into position I be governor is hard. This can make the system look bad when it comes to woman and gives woman a chip on their shoulders. Also the woman  will have to work harder to succeed. This information is crucial to the woman so they can know what they are up against. The author is using quotes and stats about woman to explain this sexism thought. This could make more woman not want to run for office since it's so hard to do.

Corbett tacking to the center

This was basically talking about how Tom Corbett is changing his views on certain things that tom wolf would have agreed on. He changed his view on medical marijuana saying he would allow a pilot program with top hospitals in the state. He also didn't appeal a state decision regarding same sex licenses. He said he wouldn't win the appeal so he would just let it go but doesn't believe in same sex marriage. Wolf attacked him on policies that he wasted time and resources on and complimented him on his fairness. This may cause people to think he is just changing his views temporarily just to get more people on his side. This information could be used to slander Corbett and it make tom wolf look very good. People think he might have a very close election. This information could make him lose or the race will get even more close. Also it mentioned Allyson Schwartz who very well made a case for the best woman to run in history. She is second according to stats though. This is showing that woman are making a come up in society and we might get a female president one day. The author went by the facts to explain things. Corbett has been surrendering lately and this could help him or make him look pathetic.

Debates

Democrats try to set themselves apart in Pa. gubernatorial debate

April 8, 2014 11:58 PM
By James O'Toole / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Rob McCord at a debate kept talking about education and kept talking about it making sure people know he planned on restoring the education deficit in Pennsylvania. He is also talking about raising the taxes on those drills by 10% this is the highest percentage from any candidate. Tom Corbett had lowered the education budget by 1 billion . All the candidates are promising more money for the system. Also McCord is endorsed by the education system and Schwartz by the pft. Rob McCord also has the most debt out of all the candidates which doesn't help him. They want to have a better formula to get schools money. This information is needed because Corbett cut a lot of education spending and allowed for huge cuts. They will use this information to their advantage to try and appeal to everyone in the school system. The author is basically summarizing everything the candidates said during their time to talk. This could affect how they vote and who will get a lead based on how good they can talk.

Allyson Schwartz loses

Allyson Schwartz

Allyson Schwartz Defeated In Pennsylvania Governor Primary

Allyson Schwartz lost and she fully supports tom wolf now. She lost and isn't a sore loser she was the front runner until tom wolf began pumping money into his own campaign. He took a lead as soon as he began to advertise himself over the state. The article is also talking about how Tom Corbett has a 36% approval rating. Also It is talking about how vulnerable tom Corbett is right now and how people don't approve of him. I learned that Schwartz was the front runner for candidacy before tom wolf funded himself. Since it's already over this information helps tom wolf because she is now planning on helping him. The author is just talking about how she lost and her response to the loss. Because wolf is a business man he has a different approach and people like him for that he is the nations largest cabinet supplier and seemed more like a relatable person. This could affect the upcoming election if she supports wolf and gives him the push needed to get Corbett out of office.

This article is talking about rob McCord ad and what he is about and it talks about some of the other candidates also. It talks about how He didn't eat meat because he couldn't afford it well his family between the ages of 4to 10. He did live in a wealthy township later though. It cost about 1.1 million to run his ad for a week of time across Pennsylvania. It talked about how tom wolf was owning the airways for weeks before and pulled in a large lead. This has made Tom Wolf look way better and helped him gain a large lead. Also now McCord has to catch up if he wants a shot at winning. The ad ends with him being in a kitchen with his biracial family. The author thinks that it is reminiscent of the mayor in New York who also has a biracial family. I learned he didn't eat meat also and that commercials cost a lot of money. This information could be used to show his ad and endorse him in a positive way. The author basically just talked about the ad and how tom wolf was already showing ads of himself. This is very important and gives emphasis in the election also giving people exposure needed to win a nomination spot.

    Wolf wins

Tom Wolf wins Democratic nomination for Pennsylvania governor

Tom Wolf wins his nomination for governor. He had 70% of the vote and will now go against Corbett in the upcoming election. He won without any trouble and now has to prepare to go against the current governor. People came out to vote for him and showed the support and they are showing how much they want Corbett out. He won in a lot of regions in Pennsylvania and barely lost any. He is a business man and seems noble in his effort to lead pa. He spent 10 million on his own election and raised another 4. He use to be in the peace corps and even saved his business the real question is can he beat Corbett. This makes Wolf seem more noble and can handle money if needed. The author isn't sure if tom wolf can win. This article gives Corbett a name in which he can prepare for to go against. He now knows that Tom wolf is his opponent. The people want tom wolf to win and Schwartz has offered to help him in taking down Tom Corbett. The author has opinions about the candidates and isn't endorsing a single one . This is giving Tom Wolf a lot of charging speed into this upcoming election.

    Tom wolf holds onto lead

Poll: Tom Wolf holds onto hefty lead in

    Pa. Dem gov race

This article was talking about how Tom Wolf has a lead over the other candidates. Tom Wolf has a 19 point lead over the closest candidate. They were talking about how Wolf 10 million towards his campaign helped him a lot. He had t.v. appearances way before any other candidates several weeks before. Some results that may affect public opinion is geared toward Tom Wolf and will help him in the long run. people think it will help him and his name was out there faster than anyone else. this information could help him get more exposure and it will help him. I could use the information to make him look better. The author is using his words to talk about the candidates and isnt just picking one side to explain it. He isn't endorsing just one. This could affect the political arena in many ways like make people want to know who these people are and why they  are so behind Wolf. This could make people want to vote for wolf since he is already so far up.

    Primaries

    http://articles.philly.com/2014-05-06/news/49636872_1_wolf-campaign-mccord-and-schwartz-allyson-schwartz
    05/08/14
    John Baer

The problem addressed is wether or not tom wolf is racist.
Rob McCord seems to think that tom wolf is a racist and called him a rich white bigot who will let racism happen. Also Allyson Schwartz went at him implying he was racist and this may have people think twice before voting for him because racism is a strong topic. This was only done because both Schwartz and McCord are trailing Wolf by a margin of over 20 points.

I've learned the tactics these political people like to use in order to get an edge or catch up. I also learned that this race could get really close and tom wolf is strong and won't be phased easily.

I could use this information in many ways to help tom wolf or slander him.
The author John Baer used this article to show the tactics of how they go back and forth and how much they research each other. Schwartz is claiming Tom Wolf was milking the whole story about his family business in the 1800s and that he took out a huge loan to help finance his campaign. The author showed all three sides and wasn't bias.

This article could have a big impact on people because it shows all the sides and now people have to pick who they like. This isn't really hurting wolf though since he is up by a big margin.
